When some one is found to be harmful to the society he is given imprisonment as punishment so that he is given ample time to realize his mistakes so that he can mould his mind to be a social element- to overcome his anti social mindset.
Democracy, religion, region, caste, gender(feminism) or any other team work is in fact for the upliftment of individuals in alignment of the society.
Healthy society is where every individual has got right environment to grow up/live up their lives.
